In the spring of 2008 I was diagnosed with stage three hormone-receptive
breast cancer. (A large lump with lymph node involvement.) Guess what I found
out?.... It's not all bad!

It's scary and confusing and mistakes are made. But you learn to appreciate
people, life and beauty. You learn how to live. --You discover a strength you
never knew you had. (And if you're lucky, you lose weight, can wear a size-6
again and get to rub it in everyone's face!)

What worked for me may not work for you, but here are the steps I took:

DIAGNOSIS - I prefer thermal imaging to mammograms because there is no
radiation or pain in thermal (heat sensitive) imaging. I went to Diane Rother,
C.C.T., Ph.D. North Star Wisdom, 9356 Ensign Ave., So. Suite E. Bloomington,
MN 55438 Email: dianerother@msn.com (952) 944-6006
http://www.thermologyonline.org/Clinics/Minnesota/Bloomington/clinic_bloomington.htm

BIOPSY - If possible, have them REMOVE the lump, then biopsy it. In my
opinion, once the hard "shell" (encasing the tumor) is pierced, the cancer cells
spread. Physicians refute this, but I believe it to be true.

TRADITIONAL DOCTORS vs. "NATURAL HEALERS" - What worked best for
me was incorporating "alternative" methods into my oncologist's protocol. The
combination of alternative with chemo, worked for me.

HEALTH TEAM - Put together a "health team" of those you trust who
understand the disease from a mind/body level, combined with scientific
know-how. In my case, it was (in order of importance): my bio-feedback
practioner, energy healer, myself, and oncologist. Find those you trust where
you live. There's no need to travel to clinics that are far away. You can cure
yourself, by assembling an expert team where you are.

CHEMO vs. ALTERNATIVE - For the first six months, I battled cancer using
only alternative methods. I went to an alternative clinic in Tulsa, Oklahoma that
treated cancer like it was a "fungus", using intravenous drips of DMSO, vitamin
C, laetrile (apricot seeds), and sodium bicarbonate. I even had sodium bicarb
injections shot directly in to my breast, around the tumor. Not only were the
sodium bicarb injections excruciatingly painful, but they were permanently
disfiguring --and did not work! And were very expensive.

There is a special place in hell for those who profit off cancer patients, selling
them false hopes and false cures. And they exist in both the alternative and
traditional Western clinics. So be mindful and aware. Question everything!

RE: THE THEORY THAT "CANCER IS A FUNGUS" - There is something to be
said about the human body being full of candida, yeast, parasites, molds,
bacteria, etc, which leads to disease of the body. I do believe that the human
body is too full of yeast and fungus. Does it cause cancer? I don't know. Does it
help to get rid of those things? Absolutely yes. I do recommend detoxing the
body. But…killing off fungus (alone) won't stop the spread of hormone-based
cancer cells.

During my six months of detoxing from fungus, my cancer spread from breast
and one lymph node to lesions in my liver, backbone and neck. I was stage-4,
by the time I spent six months, trying to beat cancer alternatively. At that point, I
had to do chemotherapy.

CHEMOTHERAPY - At first my oncologist had me on Tamoxifin, but that didn't
seem to do much. After having a port installed, I began getting Avastin and
Taxol, for three weeks on, then one week off. I did that for six months. I went to
MN Oncology, on Beam Ave. in Maplewood, across from St. John's Hospital.

AND GUESS WHAT? In six months, I was cancer free! Even my oncologist
thought that was pretty fast. So being "fungus free" and having a healthy diet
absolutely helped.

At first my oncologist was resistant to my "alternative" methods, because I was
augmenting the chemo with A LOT of vitamins and mineral supplements. But,
based upon my success (as well as barely having any symptoms), she told me
to "keep doing what I was doing."

Here's what I was doing:

- HIT IT FROM ALL ANGLES - I worked VERY HARD at getting well. I
approached it from all angles: physical, emotional, spiritual, alternative and
traditional. I worked with experts in all of the above fields.

- DIET - I changed my diet! Diet is key. I gave up sugar, dairy, wheat, caffeine
and alcohol. I ate lots of vegetables, meats, salads and gluten-free products,
and was satisfied….I lost 5 pounds a month, doing that. I felt great and was
NEVER HUNGRY. I gave my body the best possible fuel, to help it in the most
important fight of my life.

- Ph-BALANCE - Being alkaline (not acid) is KEY. I kept myself in an alkaline
state by drinking Dr. Ben Kim's Super Greens every morning, also eating a lot of
alkaline foods, juicing (somewhat) and I have a water filter that helps produce
alkaline water. I tested my alkalinity regularly and made sure I was always in a
high alkaline state.

Note: Dr. Kim's Super Greens are great! You can order them at

- EXERCISE - I walk outside in nature six days a week, for 45 min. a day. During
this time I meditate and do positive visualizations. I consider the mental workout
as important as the physical. I also went to Spring Forest Qi-Gong, and
practiced qi-gong, as taught by Master Lin. Master Lin told me that cancer hates
these three things: oxygen, happiness and heat. So I work out, think happy
thoughts and have a far-infra red sauna, that I use, as well.

-DETOX BATHS - Chemo and PET scans fill your body with toxins. So every
three days I do a detox bath, to try to pull toxins out. I ordered formulas for
"radiation" and "every day detox" at magneticclay.com. I also ordered
magnesium salt (spray and bath salts) that I spritz on my breast, as well as bathe
in. The baths feel great and I am positive they help pull toxins out.

- EMOTIONAL WORK - I believe that cancer is 50% emotions and/or toxic
stress. So I worked with an energy healer, Deb Sorenson (651-429-7630, who
listened to my issues and prescribed homeopathic "energy" medicine remedies
- based on molecular energy and frequency. It included work on energy
meridians (chakras), helping to shift "stuck" energy patterns.

- BIO FEEDBACK - I consider the guidance I received from Diane Rother and
North Star Wisdom (note address above), to be some of the best advice I
received. Diane became my lead practitioner and person I "trusted" the most.
She customized a nutritional support plan, that she adjusted, as needed, every
couple of months.

Re: Bio feedback - In a nutshell, every thing in the universe has a frequency.
Bio-feedback measures your body's frequency and customizes a nutritional
plan, that is unique to YOUR own body.

Diane created a plan for me that incorporated a lot of vitamins and minerals. It
was heavy on: vitamin D, vitamin C, Dr. Ben Kim's Super Green formula,
calcium/magnesium, zinc, olive oil, various oils (coconut, flax, sunflower,
evening primrose), acidophilus, Wobenzym enzyme formula, over 75 minerals
(in one colloidal formula), iodine drops and drops that killed off fungus (as well
as helped my body detox and handle the heavy duty drugs I was on). In short: it
helped my body handle the chemo.

Diane also suggested that I add magnesium salts to my detox baths, and (after
the detox bath, do 20 min. inside a far-infra red sauna.)

I met with Diane every couple of months and she would make adjustments to
the supplements and/or detox bathing. I would swear on a stack of bibles that
working with her is what helped me sail effortlessly through chemo-and beat
stage four cancer, in a mere 6 months.

Here is a word from my bio-feedback practioner, Diane Rother:

"Chemo---love it or hate it????--It's more just about accepting it as part of your
healing journey. Cancer is the end result of something---most often a
combination of emotion, lifestyle, and environment. No one knows which one is
the trigger for cancer. Cancer doesn't just happen. It takes five to twenty years
to form in the body. Holistically, a rule of thumb is that it takes 3 months of a
good (detox) program to clear 1 year of illness.

Sometimes when something has been inside your body so long, it takes chemo
(or some type of strong medical intervention) to buy you the time to heal.

I see people taking different healing paths w/ cancer. Some do completely
holistic, some a combination, some all Western medical. Within each of these
individual groupings, some have died.....and some definitely have chosen to live
and kick up their heels for a while.

Any choice made is a right choice for that individual. Why? Because there is
something that they need to learn from that particular journey.

So don't hate chemo and don't love chemo, just accept that it is part of your
journey." - Diane Rother, North Star Wisdom.

I worked very hard at healing. I didn't just "lie back" and expect the chemo or my
oncologist to do it for me. I followed inner guidance, that lead me to the healing
team that felt "right." Along the way, I made mistakes, I re-evaluated. I learned.
It's only cancer. You can "change" and adjust your treatments, as needed.

SURGERY: At first, I did not have surgery to remove my breast(s). After six
months of chemotherapy I was cancer-free for five months. Then I did have a
reoccurrence in the original breast site, along with one lower lymph node. So I
had to do chemo again, for four months. (Crap, my hair had just grown back,
too!)

So during my first cancer journey, I chose to not have any surgery. But the
second time, I decided to do a lumpectomy, because I never want to have to do
chemo again!

THE JOURNEY - You have to sometimes listen and sometimes not. You have
to do what you feel is right, but be ready to change, if you're wrong.

There are thousands of cancer cures out there. The most important cancer
cure…is the one between your ears. WHAT YOU THINK-sometimes called the
"placebo effect" or the power of prayer. If you believe you can beat it (FEEL IT,
IN YOUR HEART, NOT JUST SAY IT, FEEL IT), then you can make that feeling
come true. All you have to do is believe and give the body the tools it needs, to
help you live.

I see cancer as an energetic "shadow." I work every day to "shed the shadow,"
to walk in happiness and light.

Chemotherapy is an opportunity to be "reborn." --For your old dark stagnant and
unhappy cells to die, so that you can be "reborn," at a higher frequency. I
believe that this journey has made me magnetic…to joy. It's an opportunity to
consciously choose light, over dark.

The journey has made me a better person. May your journey be filled with
awakening to opportunities and potential, and the ultimate wisdom…laughter.
